music therapy
Music can express what words can’t.
Music therapy is a science;
an art;
a therapeutic relationship.
Music can be a safe medium where we can experience and explore parts of the self that are difficult to communicate in words.
Most of us have experienced the therapeutic qualities of music. Music therapists learn how to use the elements of sound and music along with the therapeutic relationship to help their clients achieve psychotherapeutic goals.
American Music Therapy Association defines music therapy as, the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.
What can you expect in a music therapy session:
-
Music/Sound making (clinical improvisation – music knowledge is not required)
-
Music listening
-
Discussing/Processing
The music therapist will join and assist you in your personal and unique journey of finding yourself and being able to live a more fulfilling life.

“I would like to thank you so much for your musical and personal inspiration throughout my stay at the hospital. I was amazed that first day at how the music brought me to my emotions and it was quite an experience. You were continually the bright spot of my day!”
